Support
Rex is built by one person. You'll get a reply from an actual human.
Email lunadevs26@gmail.com for anything at all: a bug, a feature idea, an account request, or just to say the app got something wrong. Expect a reply within a few days.
Inside the app you can also send feedback straight from the Profile tab, which attaches a screenshot and your app version automatically. That's usually the fastest way to report something broken.
Installing the beta
Rex is currently distributed through Apple TestFlight and works on iPhone running iOS 16 or later. Android is planned but not available yet.
- Install TestFlight from the App Store. It's Apple's free app for beta builds.
- Open the Rex beta invite on your iPhone and tap Accept, then Install.
- Open Rex and sign in with Apple or Google.
The TestFlight link doesn't open
Open it on the iPhone itself rather than on a Mac or Android phone, and make sure TestFlight is installed first. If Safari shows "This beta is full", email us. Tester slots get freed up regularly.
My referral code isn't working
A referral code looks like REX-7K2P and belongs inside the Rex
app, not in TestFlight. Open Rex, tap "Have a referral code?"
on the first screen, and enter it there. Codes are not case-sensitive and the
dash is optional.
Friends and recommendations
I can't find my friend
People only show up if they've already created a Rex account. The reliable ways to connect are scanning their QR code in person (the QR button on your Profile or Friends screen), importing your contacts to see who's already on Rex, or sending them your referral link. Friendships are mutual, so the other person has to accept the request.
Who can see what I recommend?
Only friends whose requests you've accepted. Rex has no public profiles and no way for a stranger to browse your recommendations.
Can I recommend the same place twice?
No. One Rec per person per place, on purpose. You can edit or delete a Rec at any time from My Places.
Search isn't showing a place I know is good
Rex only shows places somebody in your circle has personally recommended. If a search comes up empty, either nobody has been there yet, or you need more friends on Rex. You can also send a Rec request to ask your circle directly.
Your account and your data
Deleting your account
In the app: Profile → Delete Account. You'll be asked to re-authenticate with Apple or Google to confirm it's you. This deletes your personal data, your recommendations and your friend connections. It cannot be undone.
If you can't get into the app, email lunadevs26@gmail.com from the address on your account and we'll take care of it.
Getting a copy of your data
Under the GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or export of your personal data. Email the same address and say what you need. Full detail of what's stored and why is in the privacy policy.
Location and permissions
Rex asks for approximate location to find places near you, and never tracks you in the background. Camera access is used only to scan a friend's QR code. Contacts access is used only to check which of your contacts already have Rex. All of them are optional. The app works without any of them, just with more typing.
Something else
Bug reports, feature ideas and blunt feedback are all genuinely welcome. It's a beta, and the roadmap is largely shaped by what testers ask for.
